The TRUE Cause of Weight Gain and How to Fix It

Why we gain weight: OUR PHILOSOPHY

Cellular imbalance due to imbalance of hormones, nutrients, toxins and mind and body stress cause weight gain. Just like every other disease, excess body fat is a result of imbalances in hormones, nutrition, mind and body and the presence of toxins in the bowel and liver.

The main hormones responsible for weight gain are insulin, cortisol (the stress hormone) and thyroid. As we age, and other hormones decline, we all become “insulin resistant.” In times of stress, the stress hormone cortisol increases and adds to this picture. In this state, insulin swings high and we store fat in insulin-dependent areas such as the lower abdomen, thighs, under arms and under chin. When insulin and sugars swing low, approximately 30-60 minutes after a meal, we crash (i.e. cravings, severe fatigue, headache, dizziness). Hence, we find ourselves faced with “stubborn” weight and fat, which is resistant to calorie restriction and exercise.

Sajune Metabolic Balance/ Insulin Resistance Coaching Program

What is the aim of the metabolic balance/insulin resistance program?

This program restores optimal metabolic balance, gives you back your shape, lowers cholesterol and controls diabetes and pre-diabetes. Just like every other disease, excess body fat and weight gain are a result of imbalances in hormones, nutrition, mind and body and the presence of toxins in the bowel and liver. The main hormones responsible for weight gain are insulin, cortisol (the stress hormone) and thyroid. As we age, and other hormones decline, all people eventually become "insulin resistant". In times of stress, the stress hormone cortisol increases and adds to this picture. In this state, we store fat in insulin-dependent areas such as the lower abdomen, thighs, under arms and under chin. Hence, we find ourselves faced with "stubborn" weight and fat, which is resistant to calorie restriction and exercise.

What does the program consist of?

The program is a twelve week, individualized, non-calorie restricted, physician supervised program designed to restore an optimal balance of hormones and nutrients while reducing toxins and alkalizing the body.  The process includes instruction on:

  • 7-day intestinal cleanse and liver cleanse through diet modification and supplements.
  • Nutritional supplements to increase insulin sensitivity, fat metabolism and muscle support.
  • Exercise instruction to oxygenate the body and reduce acidity.
  • Stress management and breathing techniques to reduce the impact of stress on metabolism.
  • Individualized instruction on:
    • how to balance meals with metabolically balanced recipes
    • making healthy choices when eating out
    • making choices while shopping and interpreting labels on food products
    • optimal sources for sugars, fat, protein, carbohydrates and fiber
    • optimal plate ratio (50% vegetables, 25% protein, 25% complex carbohydrates)
    • how to raise pH

Who would be a good candidate for this program?

  • Patients with an unexplained weight gain with the aim of losing 10-20 lbs (HCG program is used for those with more weight to lose)
  • Patients with diabetes or pre-diabetes (Insulin control 20-30% better after this program)
  • Patients with high cholesterol (Cholesterol levels drop 20-30% with this program)

What’s the first step?

The program begins with an in depth analysis of your current state of health to determine a baseline prior to making the changes that your body so desperately wants you to make. We then begin a gentle bowel cleanse (through diet and supplements) focusing on plant-based nutrition for the first 7-10 days, along with the introduction of multiple supplements prescribed to address your specific health challenges. Although the program reintroduces animal-based proteins by the second week, there is an option of continuing the program with plant-based proteins, for those with severe health challenges.

What does the program mainly focus on?

The program focuses on correcting hormone levels, nutritional deficiencies, bowel and liver toxicities and mind and body stresses as each of these factors contribute to a state of disease in the body.

What is the cost of the program?

This program consists of a total of 12 weeks of coaching with weekly sessions via phone or face to face to follow up on next steps and assess progress. The total cost for 12 weeks of intensive coaching plus unlimited emailing coaching is $450. This program is comprehensive and will cover, not only nutrition, but also stress management techniques and exercise. Your program will follow a basic structure but will allow for any necessary modification based on your needs and goals. For those in need of more rapid and aggressive weight loss, a physician consult will determine the appropriateness of calorie restriction or prescription medications such as HCG.

What kind of results can I expect?

The average weight loss on this program is 5-10 pounds/5-10 inches in the first six weeks, 10-20 pounds/5-15 inches in the first twelve weeks, without the use of HCG, or calorie restriction. Results will vary based on the individual and program adherence.
